Wordless Wednesday

John in Kindergarten. I love this picture and kept framed on my shelf even the times we weren't together. The glint in his eye. The striped shirt and checkered yellow bow tie and sweater vest (for the record, I never teased him about that but I always let out a big "AWWWWW!"). When I look at this, I wonder really what was behind this smile-a boy who 2 years before this moved to Massachusetts from Puerto Rico with no English (his father never spoke a word of English until they moved to the States). He used to mock the English language and accent. I would have loved to hear his English with the Spanish accent. It must have been so cute.
